How to use a meat thermometer?
1. Before using the meat thermometer with probe, make sure the battery is installed and the probe is firmly inserted into the transmitter. If done correctly, it will display the temperature when activated. Test the product by turning it on and letting it read the ambient temperature of the surrounding environment.
2. Before cooking, decide what temperature your food will be cooked at. Different ingredients like fish and meat require different internal temperatures. For example: Beef has different cooking temperatures based on specific doneness (eg rare, medium and well done).
3. Next, insert a food probe into the meat before the cooking process. Make sure the thermometer body is kept away from heat sources; only the probe and probe wire should be in the oven or near the grill. Insert the probe firmly into your meat throughout the cooking process. Keep checking the readings on the receiver until your food is cooked to your liking.
4. Finally, once your food is cooked to your liking, simply remove the probe (be careful it will be hot!). If it's too hot, let it sit for a while and you're ready to enjoy your well-prepared meal!
